Where it runs
Wherever your
document lives.
On the web or in the Obsidian plugin — pick the way that fits your day. Same engine, same care, whether you drop in a file or export straight from your vault.
Format a documentMeet Compositor / format your document in seconds
Compositor is a typesetting engine. Give it a document and it will parse, typeset, polish and lay out — then handed back to you ready to impress. Save time and effort while having your documents look their best, every time.
The engine / not just a converter
Compositor do not touch your content — it applies a series of typesetting best practices to make it look gorgeous. The way a typography master would do.
Four stages / all in seconds
Comprehends your input and understand the meaning of it. Markdown, Word, Google Docs, PDF, etc. — Tables, task lists, callouts, code blocks, LaTeX math, links, all read into one structured document.
Applies best in class typography, not defaults, the ones that stand amoung the crowd: it also optimizes it setting the scales, measured lines, kerning switched on, and native styles in Word so the navigation pane and automatic TOC just work.
The small stuff review cycles are wasted on — curly quotes, real dashes, ellipses, number and currency formats set by the document’s language — fixed, counted, and reported back. Code and anything ambiguous are never touched.
Composed for the destination: a native file ready to be read online, a file perfect for printing, or a web page with built-in tools to review the content.
The outputs / one source, three destinations
A real .docx on Word’s own heading styles — navigation pane, automatic TOC and outline view all work, and anyone can edit it after you.
Set with Typst: measured lines, considered spacing, syntax-highlighted code that matches the Word output. Not a print-to-PDF of a Word file.
The same document, typeset for any screen — measured, themed for light and dark, and ready to read online.

Format a documentThe rulebook
Compositor’s decisions aren’t taste of the day — each one is a rule of good typography, written up in plain English in the field guide, one rule per page.
Read the field guideCleanup / polished on the way out
Every export quietly fixes the small stuff review cycles are wasted on — and tells you exactly what it did: “Fixed 14 things: 6 double spaces, 3 straight quotes…” Code, links and anything ambiguous are never touched.
A draft lands full of rough edges -- — "straight quotes,"“straight quotes,” dumb apostrophes like it'sit’s and don'tdon’t, some double spaces, and three dots trailing off...… It quotes prices like R$1000R$ 1.000 at 50 %50% off, across 1990-20241990–2024 ,, then hands it back set the way a typographer would :: kerned, measured, and quietly polished.
Every fix follows a rule of good typography.
